Arts Brookfield and Third Rail Projects (creators of the seminal immersive hit THEN SHE FELL, now in its 7th year of performances) have collaborated for over 10 years, creating and presenting 10 site-specific pop-up performances. As part of its 30th Anniversary programming, Arts Brookfield has now commissioned Third Rail Projects 'newest site-specific pop-up, OASIS, for the Winter Garden at BrookfieldPlace -- the shopping, dining and office complex on the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan. Free performances will be offered during from April 1 – 12.

Set in the 1980s, when the building first opened, four over-worked dreamers take their daily lunch breaks inside the Winter Garden. Longing for relief from the daily grind, they find themselves unexpectedly swept into a mirage that appears on the staircase, providing them a respite from the fast-paced pressures of the work day. As the story unfolds over ten episodes, these strangers find themselves uniting in unexpected ways, chasing the promise of escape only to discover that they wield the power themselves to create their own sanctuary.

Over the course of ten daily episodes, characters meet through quirky interactions, busting out 80s dance moves as they cascade and tumble across the steps of the palm-tree-lined Winter Garden at Brookfield Place and into a pop-up tropical installation. After a two-week series of lunchtime vignettes, a culminating performance of OASIS will occur on the evening on Friday, April 12 that combines all of the previous episodes.

OASIS is conceived, directed and choreographed by Jennine Willett, in collaboration with performers Julia Kelly, Madison Krekel, Edward Rice, Jessy Smith, and Ryan Wuestewald. Third Rail ProjectsCo-Artistic Directors are Tom Pearson, Zach Morris, and Jennine Willett.
