Radical Gags Theatrics will present the World Premiere of LIKE MONEY IN THE BANK, the first romantic comedy about the founding of the Federal Reserve Bank, by Jerry Polner. Directed by Shana Solomon, previews begin April 7 at Theatre Row Studio Theatre. Opening night is slated for Thursday, April 14.

LIKE MONEY IN THE BANK opens in 1910 Chicago as a suffragist social reformer asks an immigrant mechanic to install a steam boiler.  But before they have a chance to turn up the heat, the pair get embroiled in the most romantic issue of the early twentieth century: the establishment of the Federal Reserve System.

LIKE MONEY IN THE BANK stars Annalisa Loeffler (Alligator Summer), Rachel Mewbron (The Master Builder at BAM), Andrew Sellon (A Midsummer Night's Dream with The Pearl Theatre), Sarah Sirota (Cut Throat at Abingdon), Jack Utrata (July House), Richard Vernon (Poor Murderer on Broadway), and Michael Zlabinger (The Subtle Body at 59E59). The production team will be announced shortly.

Jerry Polner's play Quit the Road, Jack, a comedy about the North American Free Trade Agreement, recently premiered at Theaterlab. His script Fix Number Six, produced as part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festival, was previously produced by Boomerang Theatre Company, and was later published by Next Stage Press and Indie Theater Now. Fix Number Six was nominated for six Planet Connections awards including Outstanding Playwriting for a New Script. An earlier version of Like Money in the Bank received the Planet Connections award for Outstanding production of a Staged Reading, and was short-listed for the American Actors U Play Reading Festival. His full-length Weatherman was published by Samuel French and has been performed by high school groups around the country. Jerry is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Shana Solomon is a freelance director of new plays, musicals, classics and dance theatre. Among others, she has directed for New Jersey Repertory, Columbia University, Genesius Theatre Guild, North Shore Theatre Group and Ensemble Studio Theatre. As the Artistic Director of Odyssey Theatre Ensemble (New York) Shana directed The Tempest, Ghostbustas, Vanishing Point, Naming the Baby, A Shot in the Dark and Encountering Atlantis. Shana trained with Siti Company, Tectonic Theatre Project, Pig Iron Theatre Company, Pilobolus and The Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School.
