64E4 will present the World Premiere of FILLER, a new American play written and directed by William Goulet. Previews begin November 6 at 64E4 Main Stage with opening night slated for November 9

In FILLER, nurturing Marian and neurotic Adler are a married couple living in near isolation in a mid-size American city. Over the years, their relationship has become more that of mother and child than husband and wife.  When two repairmen show up, it sets off a chain of events that threatens their complacency.

FILLER stars Gabriele Schafer (Outside Inn at 59E59), Ross Pivec, Kyle Minshew (Prometheus Bound at New York Theatre Workshop), Adam Hyland (The Sublet Experiment), and Philip de la Cal. The production features sets by Christopher and Justin Swader, lighting by Mary Ellen Stebbins, and stage management by Kristine Schlachter.

William Goulet was born in Pennsylvania and raised in Indiana.  He obtained a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Evansville where he was awarded for his poetry and short fiction writing.  Minoring in drama, he went on to receive an MFA in acting at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he also performed at Playmakers Repertory in several roles, most notably Wesley in Curse of the Starving Class and Comte De Guiche in Cyrano de Bergerac.  In New York, William has played recurring roles in the soap operas Ryan’s Hope and One Life to Live.  He has directed for many off-off venues such as Pinter’s The Lover at the Theatre Studio where his own work At the Park was also produced.
