The world's biggest opera diva (in her mind), JESSYE NORMOUS makes her annual holiday appearance for one night only at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 West 42 Street, inside West Bank Café) on Thursday, December 6 at 7pm. This unforgettable night full of hilarious comedy, holiday music, eating and oh, some live opera as well, stars Juilliard trained nightlife legend SHEQUIDA as her alter ego, Jessye Normous. SHEQUIDA HALL is a classically trained opera singer and drag artist born in Jamaica. From 1997 to 1998, Shequida's alter ego Gary Hall played played Wendi Mercury on the daytime television show One Life to Live. Shequida's hit Off-Broadway show, Opera for Dummies was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for best Off Broadway Production and toured internationally. Shequida also served as the USA Network's spokesperson for Latin America. In 2008, Shequida appeared on the TV reality competition America's Got Talent.
